Planning document

Now that you’ve started to build a picture of what your condition means to you, you can also start monitoring and adjusting the parts of your lifestyle in a way that is personal to you.

Combine the knowledge gained and perhaps one of the recommended tools to make a plan. The plan might not work straight away so you can use the planning sheets to keep monitoring and adjusting the parts of your lifestyle that in a way that is personal to you.

Use your Parkinson’s Profile to firstly understand your baseline and make a personal version of your condition.

Once you understand what is normal for you, you can choose which of the areas of your lifestyle that you can start to adjust to manage your condition.

The area with the most potential for impact is medication – if you are following your medication plan correctly then you stand a good chance of managing your condition, so this is as good a starting place as any.

Other options include sleep, diet and staying active.

Use the planning document to decide on what you are going to address, choose a timescale to keep to and then assess whether the changes you have made have had a positive effect.
